The Skilled Migration Tasmanian State Nomination Program is now open.
Features of the 2024-25 Skilled Migration State Nomination Program include:
Green priority attributes have been reduced and a new “Orange-Plus” attribute category has been created. The introduction of the new Orange-Plus category will allow all Green pass holders to receive an invitation to apply for nomination within eight weeks of submitting their registration of interest. Candidates with at least one Orange-Plus attribute are highly likely to receive an invitation to apply for nomination within six months. The higher the number of Orange-Plus attributes a candidate has, the sooner they will be issued an invitation.
All occupations listed on the Australian Government’s subclass 190 and 491 list remain eligible for nomination in at least one program pathway.
The Tasmanian Onshore Skilled Occupation List (TOSOL) has had 18 new occupation groups added for the subclass 190 Tasmanian Skilled Employment pathway. Where an occupation is not on the Department of Home Affairs skilled occupation lists, and a skills assessment is not available, the candidate may have a skills assessment for any of the occupations listed within the same four-digit group to be considered for subclass 190 nomination.
The critical roles list has been updated with 37 occupations added
Income thresholds have been updated to reflect Australian median and average earnings and the increased Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT).
Employment with a related skills assessment as Chef, Cook, or Café or Restaurant manager in a fast casual restaurant or café business is now accepted. This does not apply to limited-service restaurants such as typical fast-food chains
The non-refundable service fee to apply for nomination has increased to $360 (plus 10% GST). There remains no charge to submit a Registration of Interest.
